Review: E.l.f. Therapeutic Conditioning Lip Balm

I have the Therapeutic Conditioning Lip Balm in Strawberry Crème. It is at eyeslipsface.com or Target for $1(or at eyeslipsface.co.uk for £1.50). I got mine at Target, which mine only had the one flavor, but they also have vanilla and blackberry.

The packaging is similar to Softlips, and it contains 0.07oz of product. I don't mind the tall skinny, tube. For comparison, it's about as tall as a bottle of OPI nail polish. The top is clear but doesn't fall off easily.

When I apply this to my lips, it feels greasy. I don't mind thick lip balms, but this isn't thick, it's just like a layer of grease sitting on my lips. It slips and slides all over my lips. I would not recommend you use this if you want to put lipcolor over it, because it will slip and slide all over your lips and probably outside your lip line(plus you'll get a layer of grease on your lipstick, yuck!). This lip balm is supposed to smell like strawberries, but I don't really smell anything. Because it's so greasy and slippery, it tends to get in your mouth. The taste isn't pleasant. It's hard to describe, it's just a nasty lip balm taste.

I feel that this lip balm just sits on top of my lips and never sinks in. It doesn't really moisturize becaue it never really sinks in. After a while, I have to wipe it off or it will just sit there. When I do, my lips feel soft. The bad thing is that the softness doesn't last very long, and I could get that softness plus moisturization from other non-greasy lip balms.

Claims- all from eyeslipsface.com
"Salvation for parched lips"- False
"This innovative lip balm coats lips with natural nutrients and skin soothers to condition even the most sensitive lips"- Yes, it's good for sensitive lips and has natrual ingredients, but I wouldn't call it very conditioning

In conclusion, this is not a very good lip balm in my opinion. I don't find myself reaching for it very often. I would not recommend it, and would say to pass on this one(I can't complain too much though, it's only $1). I think I might just take the balm out of the tube and mix it into my homemade lip scrub to add some softness. I'll see how that works and keep you posted. Please leave your thoughts on this lip balm if you have tried it in the comments, I would love to hear them!

Welcome!

Welcome to Unchapped!

Hello, my name is Leah and this is my blog for lip balm/chapstick reviews! I'm a huge lip balm addict. I have quite an obession, but I can't help myself- I hate chapped lips! I love trying out all the different brands and seeing which one is the best. I constantly find myself reapplying lip balm throughout the day. I thought this would be a fun blog to do because I need to do something with all my opinions about lip b alms. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge and opinions with you!

When I do a lip balm review, I will include all of these things:
Packaging: Is it hard to open? Does the cap fall off a lot? Is it bulky and obnoxious?
Smell/Taste: Basically this is just describing the smell and taste of the lip balm. I will include how strong the smell is, if it tastes nasty, my opinion on the smell, etc,...
Texture/Smoothness: Does it glide on my lips easily? Is it too greasy? Too dry?
Price: The price in USD. I may not always include this, because prices often vary.
Pros: The nice things about the lip balm. For example, if it contains SPF, organic, paraben free, no animal testing, etc,...
Moisture: This is the most important thing about a lip balm. This is how well it moisturizes my lips and keeps them unchapped

Besides reviews, I will also do updates on new and limited edition lip balm and first impressions on when I first get a lip balm. I will always use a lip balm for at least a few weeks before reviewing it.

I hope you enjoy my blog! Please feel free to comment on any of my posts telling me what you thought of the lipbalm. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact me at leahunchapped@gmail.com
